Charlestown - 1.7 miles from Us
Sandy beach with area of pebbles of geological interest. No dogs. There are a number of small caves in the cliffs but beware of rock falls. Nearby Charlestown Harbour is home to tall ships and has been used as a film setting for many films and TV series, including the BBC’s POLDARK.
Porthpean - 2.3 miles from Us
A safe, sandy, sheltered beach popular with families. The cliffs to the east are used by nesting birds, and there are lots of rock pools to the west. Safe for swimming, windsurfing and sailing. No jet-skiing allowed. On the coastal footpath, an easy walk to the Georgian port of Charlestown to the east.
Pentewan - 4.8 miles from Us
Over half a mile of east-facing sandy beach, mostly in front of Pentewan Sands Holiday Park, suitable for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, sea canoeing and with a slipway for sailing (canoes and dinghies available for hire).
Mevagissey - 5.7 miles from Us
Located about a quarter of a mile up the coast from the working harbour of Mevagissey is Polstreath beach. It is an attractive cove with shelter from the wind provided by the cliffs behind and an assortment of rocky outcrops break up the beach at higher tides.
Par - 6.3 miles from Us
Par Sands offers a large expanse of firm sand backed by the dunes close to the village of Par, situated four miles from St Austell. This south-facing beach is popular in the summer accessed from the large car park with links to the Eden Project and Wheal Martyn Museum by the Clay Trail Cycle Routes.
Polkerris - 6.8 miles from Us
A sheltered harbour beach in the small village of Polkerris, overlooking St Austell Bay, with a stone quay providing shelter and about two miles west of Fowey and just six miles from St Austell. This sandy beach is ideal for families, with facilities, including a slipway, right by the beach, watersport equipment for hire and tuition available.
